The second issue of the “Dialogue” newsletter
The second issue of the “Dialogue” newsletter of the fifth phase of the Civil Society Dialogue Programme between Turkey and the EU has been published in Turkish and English.
The grant projects awarded under the Civil Society Dialogue Fifth Phase focus on the improvement of dialogue and cooperation; furthermore, they are implemented in not only social areas involving vulnerable groups such as disabled individuals, elderly people and refugees but also other areas such as gender equality, education, health, agriculture, food and environment, through which they create an impact in life.
We compiled for you the progress attained during the Civil Society Dialogue Fifth Phase that brought together hundreds of civil society organizations from Turkey and the EU around common themes and on a common ground, enabling them to exchange information/experience and establish a permanent dialogue.
Turkey has been going through a massive change like the rest of the world due to the outbreak of COVID-19 that has been declared as pandemic by the World Health Organization. While we are influenced by the effects of this change in social, economic and many other spheres, we also observe that the themes of “technology” and “solidarity” have come to the fore.
We’ve been undergoing a process in which we take advantage of technological opportunities more often to establish dialogue. It is essential to establish a solid dialogue for solidarity. Therefore, we all see that dialogue gets more important in our personal lives and international relationships.
Under these extraordinary circumstances, our civil society organizations undertake efforts to continue their activities using technological facilities, while they exhibit good examples of solidarity to support efforts in combating the pandemic.
In this new edition; we’d like to present the Town Twinning between Turkey and the EU Project to jointly discover different domains of dialogue. Here you can find the inspiring activities of the projects awarded under the fifth phase. This edition contains details about the training events for the staff of the Directorate for EU Affairs, Civil Society Dialogue Sixth Phase Information Meetings and the Consultation Meeting for “Public-CSO Cooperation and Strengthening Volunteerism Processes in Turkey”. In this edition we also bring to your attention the news about Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals Award granted during the 11th Corporate Social Responsibility Summit to the Directorate for EU Affairs for its activities in the field of civil society.
