Agriculture ministers discuss the future of CAP

Today, agriculture ministers from every EU member state meet to discuss the CAP. The Council meeting will take place today, monday 21 September 2020 in Brussels.

The Council meeting will take place today, monday 21 September 2020 in Brussels. The session will be chaired by Julia Klöckner, Federal Minister for Food and Agriculture of Germany.

The meeting will start at 10 with the adoption of A items and continue with an exchange of views on the reform of the common agriculture policy (CAP). Ministers will focus on the green architecture, the future direct payments system and the new delivery model. In the afternoon session, the European Commission will present the latest developments in trade related agricultural issues and Ministers will exchange views on current and upcoming free trade agreements negotiations.
